
Keeping Your 1500W Infrared Heaters Alive and Kicking
Putting 1500W infrared heaters in a gazebo ceiling is a great idea for staying warm, but it’s basically like putting your electronics in a danger zone. Between the morning dew, heavy humidity, and the occasional random splash of water, these elements take a beating. If you don’t seal them right, they’ll burn out. Plain and simple. You’ll end up with a short circuit or oxidized filaments, and suddenly your cozy outdoor spot is freezing again.
The fight against moisture
Here is how it actually works: moisture loves to settle on the cold surface of the lamp. When you flip the switch, that water flashes into steam instantly. If the housing isn’t sealed tight, that steam just hangs around, creating a corrosive little cloud that eats away at the electrical contacts. To stop that, we use gaskets and splash-guards. It keeps the guts of the heater dry so you don’t have to worry about it.
No fog, no leaks
Nobody wants a heater that looks like a steamed-up bathroom mirror. That happens when warm, damp air hits the cooler glass, blocking the heat from actually reaching you. We fixed this by tightening the housings and sealing the lens. It keeps the air controlled and the heat path clear. As for the splashes? We just changed the shape of the chassis. We angled the housing so water just slides right off instead of pooling up around the power input. Pooling is usually what trips your breakers and ruins your night.
The balancing act
Now, you can’t just wrap the whole thing in plastic. If you make it 100% airtight, the electronics will overheat and fry themselves. It’s a bit of a trade-off. We use materials that pull heat away from the driver while still keeping the rain out. One last thing—and this is important. Make sure your gazebo’s electrical box is actually rated for outdoors. Even the best heater in the world can’t help you if your junction box gets wet and trips the main breaker.
